First Light With My New Miniature Photography Setup

To go with my increasing activity in wargaming, I want to get back into my photography and apply it this renewed other hobby.

After fiddling around with some new, controlled pin spots (narrow angle spotlights) and getting them talking to the DMX controller, it was time to take some pictures. There will be a longer article soon on lighting.

*The scene setup with agricultural drainage pipe as the centre of attention*

I had just recently bought the drainage pipe with ideas of use in terrain. I was looking at it one day and saw light coming through the slots to drain water out. This connected me with all these books and movies that had drainage papers in them, from “Them” and “The Blob”, to “The Strain”.

I haven’t Photoshopped the RAW images yet, but thought it was time I got the first post in some years.

Some more lighting adjustments and we are in the right zone

These images will give you some idea of my lighting rig. More in a dedicated article, as I’m still completely happy with the ease of positioning of some lights.
